Pretty in pink: Builders turn on the style to raise awareness for cancer research

PINK is not a colour you will often see on a building site – but on Friday construction workers at the London Clinic’s new dedicated cancer centre were keen to show their support for Breast Cancer Care.
Employees from Shepherd Construction (pictured), the company managing the building project and the main contractor for the centre, donned bright pink helmets and even ate pink-iced donuts for lunch.
Malcolm Miller, chief executive at The London Clinic, says: “At The London Clinic we know only too well how terrifying a breast cancer diagnosis can be so we were delighted that staff are doing their bit to raise money and awareness for breast cancer charities.”
The £50 million cancer centre is expected to open in winter 2009.
