Peggie Preston
Service for Peggie, a fighter for peace

A MEMORIAL service for Covent Garden anti-war campaigner Peggie Preston (pictured) will be held in South Africa House, Trafalgar Square, on November 8.
Ms Preston, who died last year aged 84, travelled the world on the trail for peace and justice. She was an aid worker in Johannesburg during apartheid, in Saigon during the American invasion of Vietnam and in Iraq and during the Gulf War in 1991.
She was a regular in the Crypt café in the basement of St Martin-in-the-Fields church, where a short service will be held before the memorial next door from 1pm.
