Drug project welcomes the A-team… with cakes and a tea party
THE A-Team weren’t known for sipping tea and eating cake but a crack commando unit of volunteers did exactly that to welcome their addition to the Westminster Drug Project.
Sixty guests, including Labour MP Karen Buck, councillors, police and service users, descended on WDP headquarters in Harrow Road to celebrate the new group of support workers, affectionately known as the A-Team.
The team is made up of volunteers who make themselves available to advise and support others undergoing treatment for substance misuse. WDP includes a drop-in service, treatment programme and aftercare. See www.wdp-drugs.org.uk |
