The secret to long life? for buster, it’s the pints that keeps him going!

CENTENERIAN marathon runner cum part time plumber Buster Martin was in fine fettle as the crowds turned out to wish him a happy 102nd birthday.

The diminutive Buster was not to be upstaged by his celebrity guests, including Birds of a Feather star Pauline Quirke and king of the jungle Christopher Biggins, as the Pimlico Plumbers workforce put down their tools and charged their glasses to salute their rambunctious colleague in a special birthday lunch on Monday.
Not looking a day over 70, and turned out in his Sunday best, it was no wonder Buster had to fight off the swooning ladies who were trying to drag him onto the dance floor for most of the afternoon.
Sipping from a pint of limited edition Buster’s Best Bitter, he told the West End Extra he had never drunk from the bottle in his whole life. “Real men only drink out of a glass’” he said proudly.
And when asked the key to his longevity, Buster dispensed yet more wisdom, although the NHS might see it differently, telling us: “It’s the drink. A few pints is healthy for me. It’s kept me going.
“That’s how I got round those 26 miles and that’s why I’m still here today.”
