WESTMINSTER has a new Lord Mayor.
Councillor Louise Hyams, who has represented St James’s ward for 10 years, takes over the role from Carolyn Keen.
She has been a key player in social services provision at the council, chairing committees and panels in the area as well as sitting on the boards of a number of charities.
She said: “I would like to thank my fellow councillors for giving me this opportunity. It’s a great honour to be elected mayor of any borough but it’s an exceptional honour and privilege to be Lord Mayor of a city at the heart of one of the great world capitals.” |
