West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 23 May 2008

Both sides of the river

• SO London mayor Boris Johnson looks to the Westminster Council connection (Blue letter day for top Tories as Red Ken’s defeat frees up jobs, May 9).
Sir Simon Milton goes to City Hall as lead adviser on housing and planning. Kit Malthouse, an ex-Westminster councillor, becomes Boris’s deputy mayor and ex-chief executive Peter Rogers is interim boss of the London Development Agency.
Westminster Tories now have both sides of the river, and with Kensington and Chelsea Tory as well, the three biggest budgets.
Where will any opposition come from? There is only one place left – from the streets.
