Fear of the late licence

• I READ with interest Charlotte Chambers’ article quoting Councillor Rebecca Hossack’s fears about the destructive increase in licences being granted for late-night bars, pubs and restaurants (Late-night licences ‘a threat to the survival of a unique area’, May 9).
In spite of my neighbours successfully opposing one such club application in October 2007, it has recently reapplied.
Surely there are already quite enough of these venues in Soho to satisfy even the most hardened of drinkers.
