West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 May 2008

Chinatown law centre must not be allowed to close down

• I AM shocked to learn that the Central London Law Centre is threatened with closure (Outrage at threat to Chinatown legal service, April 25).
Our adversarial legal system is predicated on both sides receiving adequate representation, yet recent cuts in Legal Aid have made this practically impossible in certain cases.
It would be a disgrace for London Councils not to renew funding for this essential community service in the heart of the West End.
Tristan Smith
Green Party parliamentary candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster
