Budding young hacks make news at beeb

THE hallowed corridors of the BBC are a dream for many budding journalists, but not for students at Paddington Academy, who got the chance to get inside fortress ‘beeb’.
Students aged 11 to 14 have been preparing reports from their school to be broadcast on the BBC website as part of a project to engage children with current affairs, and the processes behind the news.
As part of their training from professional journalists, the students visited BBC television headquarters in White City (above). The project is part of a wider initiative – BBC News School Report – which has been endorsed by newsreader Huw Edwards.
Ayyoub Osman, a Year 8 student at the school said: “I like being part of the BBC project because we get to use great equipment. We are lucky to have lots of opportunities to go on trips. We’ve been to the BBC and reported from the QPR press box.
