West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 22 February 2008

Enquiring about Future politics

• WHY does it not surprise me that Pimlico Academy sponsor John Nash and disgraced Conservative MP Derek Conway have been linked to the funding row surrounding David Davis MP’s failed bid to be Conservative Party leader, through Mr Nash’s property company Regent Square Estates Ltd?
As recently reported in the national press, a £20,000 “donation from Regent Square Estates Ltd did not appear in Mr Davis’s declaration to the Electoral Commission.
“Instead it was registered as two separate £10,000 donations under the names of two of his closest lieutenants”.
Derek Conway is also a long-standing ally of Mr Davis.
Does this latest episode not tell you all you need to know about the disgraceful way in which Westminster Conservatives have handed over Pimlico School to their Conservative friends?
We need a full inquiry into John Nash, his Future charity and the way in which Westminster City Council has handled this latest fiasco.
CLLR Paul Dimoldenberg
Leader of the Labour group
City Hall,
Victoria Street, SW1
