Coffee shop kids' books
WHAT with PlayStations, iPods and YouTube you could be forgiven for thinking that reading was going out of fashion.
Not for the children at Soho Parish School who were the grateful recipients of books this week.
The haul of 1,879 books was brought in by customers of local branches of Starbucks. Since November customers have been donating the stories to boost the school’s library.
Deputy head Louise Carter said: “There are no excuses for them not to be bookworms now.
“It works out at about three books per child which is absolutely wonderful. We are very grateful for the help from Starbucks.” |
