West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 15 February 2008

Parents’ meeting

• IT was good to hear from parents at the meeting to discuss play provision in Maida Vale on Tuesday evening.
As a working parent I relate to their concerns and know how important it is to feel that children are happy and safe when parents can’t be there.
I have committed to work with parents to look at why the Maida Vale Play Project centre is not being used as much as it could be. I will be visiting all the play provision in the area and I will looking again at the proposals.
I reiterate that no decision has been made on the future of the project. My aim is to ensure that the council offers high-quality services for children, that not only meets their needs  but provides good value for money.
I will ensure that I have all the facts and views so my decision will be an informed one and in the best interests of both local children, parents and young people throughout Westminster.
Cllr SARAH RICHARDSON
Cabinet Member
for Children’s Services
Westminster Council
