Mains burst hits businesses

SMALL businesses bore the brunt of a major flood in Edgware Road.
Fifteen shops and an underground car park were flooded on Sunday when the pipe burst at 9.40am and more than 150 homes were left without electricity.
A Transport for London spokesman said the road remained closed yesterday (Thursday). “We are investigating how this happened and contractors could be penalised,” he said.
It is the second flood in the area this year.
