Air rescue for injured worker

A MAN was flown by helicopter to hospital with life-threatening burns yesterday (Thursday) following an electrical explosion in the West End. He suffered serious injuries after drilling through a cable.
Shops were evacuated and witnesses heard a loud noise and saw smoke in Hanover Street, south of Oxford Circus. A cordon was put up between Hanover and Regent streets and power was restored to the area.
