Gang’s £75,000 jewellery haul

A SCOOTER gang is believed to have sabotaged a car’s tyres in order to steal Indian gems worth £75,000.
A businessman was with his father and their driver when he was robbed as they changed a flat tyre in Senior Street, Paddington, on Thursday.
A second car pulled up and the passenger got out and grabbed two bags containing the gems, necklaces, rings, earrings, bangles and pendants from an Indian supplier.
The 32-year-old businessman suffered a dislocated arm as he clung to the robbers’ car as they drove off into nearby Bourne Terrace.
Police think the victim may have been tailed the previous day when he drove from his home in Wembley, north London, to clients in Coventry and Leicester.
Detective Constable Ira Tremblay said: “We believe the car tyre had been deliberately damaged by the suspects to eventually force the Toyota to pull over.”
He was treated in hospital for a dislocated right shoulder and bruising but was later discharged.
The raiders’ car was found abandoned in Paddington Green at the junction with Newcastle Place.
