Flood disaster relief
CHURCH Street councillor Aziz Toki is flying to Bangladesh this week to help flood disaster survivors.
As a Scout leader he will be joining members of the Bangladesh Scouts and will represent Westminster District at an international camp at Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong – one area to bear the brunt of the cyclone devastation which claimed more than 3,200 lives.
He said: “We have been raising money from the community which we intend to use for installing water pumps so that people can at least have some clean water. Further plans will be taken in consultation with the Bangladesh Scouts.” |
