A very dippy daylight robbery
TWO bungling pickpockets who stole credit cards and a wallet from a woman in Covent Garden underground have each been jailed for six months.
After distracting the woman they “dipped” into her bag and snatched the wallet.
They then sat on the platform counting the cash.
British Transport Police sergeant Anthony Jones said: “The offenders walked across to the opposite platform and began rifling through a wallet.”
Marius Melenciuc, 34, and Dorin Sonfa, 38, pleaded guilty at City of Westminster Magistrate`s court on Friday to the theft on September 27. |
