Man falls from Hilton hotel room

A MAN fell to his death from the 19th floor of a landmark hotel on Friday after a three-hour stand-off.
Police negotiators were unable to prevent the 20-year-old plunging from the Hilton in Park Lane.
A police team with a battering ram was sent in at 8am ready to try to get into the man’s locked bedroom.
Paramedics attended the man when he landed on the flat roof of a second-floor building at about 10.30am.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said he was pronounced dead a short time later.
She added that negotiators spoke to the him from an adjacent balcony and through the room door prior to his fall.
Eyewitness Caron Lynch said: “I went past the hotel this morning on the 137 bus at around 8.10am and saw this drama unfolding. It is really tragic when something like this happens – and really emotional for all the emergency services who attended the scene.”
