West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 September 2007

Still cross over Crossrail

• PEOPLE in the East End are angry about the flawed Crossrail scheme. Crossrail will cause harm to densely populated residential areas in the east as the route follows largely residential areas while avoiding development sites.
The Woodseer and Hanbury Residents Association (WHRA) is angry that Crossrail has failed to substantiate the reasons for having an unnecessarily harmful route alignment tunnel, a ventilation and intervention shaft and a costly Whitechapel Station and yet it is seeking billions of taxpayers’ money for a project that we do not believe is in the public interest.
