Man faces murder charge

A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of a 20-year-old man who died five days after discharging himself from St Mary’s Hospital.
Muktar Ali was found unconscious in Princes Square, Bayswater, last Sunday.
He told police he had fallen over and claimed he had cut his head. He discharged himself from St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, but returned a day later on the Monday complaining of pain.
He was diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage and transferred to the National Neurological Hospital in Bloomsbury on Friday, but died later that day.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Ali had suffered a fractured skull.
Makumbu Mayemba, of Tademe House, on the Lisson Green estate, appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates Court charged with murder on Wednesday.
He pleaded not guilty and a trial will be held at Southwark crown court next year.
