Academies off course

• THE academy programme at Pimlico is a disaster waiting to happen. There are already two of them in special measures in London (one in Westminster).
Also, academies are allowed to opt out of the National Curriculum and, apart from English and maths, can teach what they want. What kind of national education strategy does that provide?
