Mayor should have talked to drivers
• I FIND your West End Extra a very interesting read.
Having driven all types of buses and lorries for most of my life, I’d like to comment on bendy buses, post office closures, plus public toilet charges.
Those stories are all a disgrace, especially in one of the richest capitals in the world, with all the visitors and tourists to London.
Had Mayor of London Ken Livingstone asked a driver with experience and knowledge of the streets and roads he would have found out that the old road layout in London is, without a doubt, unsuitable for a set of three wide open doors with no control of who boards.
As a driver I would accept that without a conductor or a driver that can sell tickets there is no deal!
And with all the problems you have highlighted in your article any fool can see the problems with the railways, post offices, and toilets.
The rot has set in. We must hope that common sense and logic will one day return.
