F1 sensation takes to a more sedate form of transport at a specially designed course in Brunswick Gardens
A rare stationary moment

HE may be pole position in the Formula One at the moment, but Lewis Hamilton had difficulty staying on track in Russell Square.
The 22 year-old racing wünderkind braved the specially designed course in Brunswick Gardens yesterday (Thursday) at the helm of his old go-kart, which was
auctioned for charity.
But Hamilton’s karting swansong was short-lived when he crashed into the barriers on just the second lap, shortly before his kart – which sold for more than £42,000 – gave up the ghost. Not to be deterred, the star driver was soon back in another kart, tailed by England cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
