M Tussaud’s sculptor Simon Morris with ‘Green’ Charles.
Moulding a monarch

MADAME Tussauds unveiled a new environmentally-friendly waxwork of Prince Charles on Wednesday.
The ‘green’ figure used recycled wax from a 1989 figure of the Prince, with an added 82 pounds of organic beeswax, 55 pounds of clay and fiberglass.
Sculptors worked only with their hands and in daylight to cut down on electricity usage. Workers rode bicycles to attend planning meetings during the four-month project.
“The Prince of Wales is a major champion of green issues, and we always aim to be up to date with how we portray the figures,” said Ben Lovett, a spokesman for Madame Tussauds in Marylebone.
