Roman history to be revised

THE history of London is being rewritten after archaeological treasures unearthed in the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields were officially dated.
Archaeologists are redrawing the maps of Roman and Saxon London after the stone sarcophagus containing the decapitated skeleton of a Roman man and Saxon grave goods was found to be 1600-years old.
It was not known that Romans lived outside the walls of Londinium at that time.
The finds go on public display at the Museum of London from May 24.
