Prince's Trust volunteer's award

A SOHO businessman won a royal seal of approval last Wednesday for his commitment to helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Marlon Richardson, who works for an accountancy firm in Wardour Street, scooped a prestigious accolade at The Prince’s Trust Employee Development Awards, which recognise the success of businesses and staff supporting the youth charity.
BBC Journalist and Trust ambassador Jon Sopel hosted the event, sponsored by The Cabinet Office and British Telecom, at St James Palace.
Prince Charles awarded Mr Richardson the award for Outstanding Development through fundraising.
Mr Richardson said: “It’s a great feeling to know the money raised is going directly to helping young people. The Prince’s Trust is a fantastic charity doing great work with some of the country’s most disadvantaged youngsters.”
Mr Richardson joined The Trust‘s employee development initiative as a fundraiser on the Costa Rica coast-to-coast challenge.
He recently became the main contact for the company’s Sahara Desert challenge raising £130,000.
