VICE COPS BUST ‘POSH’ SEX RACKET
Escorts were provided for millionaire businessmen
VICE cops busted a ‘posh’ prostitution ring on Monday arresting two men suspected of trafficking women as sex slaves.
A four-month long surveillance operation led officers to two brothers providing escorts to millionaire businessmen.
The police claim the men, snared outside their home in Vauxhall Bridge Road, Victoria, were earning £30,000 a week.
The police seized cars used for transporting women to luxury mansions across London.
Supt David Eyles from the Met’s Clubs and Vice Unit said he would personally ensure the men were stripped of assets gained from the “dreadful trade”.
He said: “The main suspect has been under surveillance for some time and we were able to apprehend him at the property with women believed to be working with him. This was a growing business operating at the top end of the market.
“Our concern is for the women, who have been trafficked. The activity was causing particular disturbance. We had received dozens of complaints. I hope that this operation sends a loud and clear message to anybody involved in this dreadful trade.
“I also hope it shows them that we will not only arrest perpetrators – but will take away from them their trappings of wealth and ensure that they are stripped of their assets.
“This operation is just one of the many that officers from my unit carry out to tackle those who control and those who traffic and coerce vulnerable women in to the world of prostitution.”
Detectives followed up on cards left in phone boxes advertising a website Posh4Posh with “services” ranging from £150-£1000 an hour.
The arrests led to the eight prostitutes being recovered from brothels in Kensington. |
