Prize winners see their plays performed

WINNERS of a prize for playwrights from Westminster saw their work performed on stage at Soho Theatre on Wednesday.
Christine Jones won the Westminster Prize with Sniff, which is about an elderly couple that enjoy a raunchy affair in a Bayswater hotel.
The first-time playwright, a secretary who works in Bayswater, scooped theatre vouchers.
She said: “I genuinely found the people here very supportive. Working in the workshops here has been a wonderful experience and really inspiring.”
She added: “I will use the vouchers to see Equus and Rose Tattoo at the National.”
Soho Theatre’s artistic director Lisa Goldman said: “It is good to see three women win the prize.”
Barbara Frost, who works for Westminster Family Learning, and Valerie Cutko, an actor who works for West End theates, came second and third.
Arts chief Councillor Daniel Astaire presented the awards.
