Beverley Hughes with children at Victoria Library
Reading is the right stuff says kids’ minister

THE Children’s Minister has left behind the world of politics and joined in a children’s reading session at a Westminster library.

Beverley Hughes read to children at Victoria Library after announcing the launch of a new publication that guides parents through the early years of a child’s development.
Ms Hughes read a tale from one of the library’s collection of children’s books.
She said: “It was a pleasure to read to the children. Victoria Library is one of many across the city that understands the importance of developing a child in their early years.
“I congratulate staff here for taking the initiative by holding reading clubs and activities that parents and children can share together, making reading an experience, not just a skill.”
The minister was at the library to launch The Early Years Foundation Stage booklet highlighting four key principles in developing assisting the development of children from birth.
