Bugsy Malone
ALAN Parker’s smash hit Bugsy Malone is hitting the big screen again, 30 years after it was first released.
And it has been given a wash and brush up, its colours improved and the songs which defined a generation of young cinema-goers have been enhanced.
It is the story of Fat Sam and his speakeasy and his battle with evil mobster Dandy Dan is as fun today as it was when it was first released.
The love story between Bugsy and Blousey Brown will bring tears of nostalgia to those watching it again, while the fact it is on general release will no doubt win the musical a whole new army of fans.

Manhattan
WOODY Allen’s brilliant love-sex-relationship comedy/drama is still a piece of masterful storytelling – except it is too easy to forget this was the beginning of Allen’s neurosis filled flicks based around New York.
It means it feels a little slow, and that we have heard the intellectual debates about the hilarity of the Marx brothers and the superiority of Dixieland jazz to every other form of music on the planet.
Manhattan is another film that is worth seeing again on a big screen.
