thriller
on cards
THE Camden New Journal Challenge Cup showdown is this Sunday
when Steeles take on Globetown in the final.
The two Camden Sunday League Division One pacesetters go head-to-head
at Wingate and Finchley FC and a thriller is on the cards.
Honours are even in the league but Globetown will be looking
to avenge a Senior Cup semi-final loss to Steeles on penalties
last month.
Belsize Park-based Steeles have a fine tradition in the Challenge
Cup though, having won the prestigious competition three times.
But Islington and Bethnal Green’s Globetown, who lifted
the Senior Invitation Cup in their Double season of 2003-4,
will be looking to end that run as they bid to clinch the trophy
for the first time.
Kick off on Sunday at the Abrahams Stadium in Summers Lane,
North Finchley is at 10.30am. |
