Cops in CCTV appeal for attacker
THIS is the grainy CCTV still of the man suspected of attempting
to rape a commuter as she left Belsize Park Tube station at
midnight on Good Friday.
The Spanish-sounding suspect with “big-filled” lips,
who initially tried to strike up a conversation with the 25-year-old
victim as she left the station, followed her before “grabbing
her shoulders and attempting to indecently assault her”
at the junction of Belsize Avenue and Belsize Terrace.
The officer in charge of the search, Detective Constable Jonathan
Fowler, praised the woman, who “repeatedly” pushed
her attacker away. He said: “The victim put up a robust
defence… This must have been a traumatic and terrifying
ordeal for the lady involved.”
The suspect was scared off by passers by. |
