Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 4 December 2009

Saviours or destroyers?

• HOW utterly ridiculous that your paper was full of Labour politicians campaigning to save the accident and emergency department at Whittington Hospital (Is A and E closure the price to pay for hospital upgrade? November 27).
Our local NHS hospital provides vital emergency services. Who has been running the NHS, the Department of Health and the government for the last 12 years? Labour politicians.
Who are responsible for the NHS finances that mean the A and E might have to close? Labour politicians.
So does Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party expect us to forget that they run the country and the NHS?
Or perhaps it is Labour’s tactic for the next election: to bring things to the edge of destruction and then campaign to save them? That certainly seems to be their tactic with Whittington Hospital – and for that matter the economy as a whole.
