Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 20 November 2009

Defender of low-paid

• I TAKE this opportunity to commend Jeremy Corbyn (Corbyn now Islington’s longest-ever MP, November 13). He has always been a friend of Islington Unison, and has always stood up for low-paid council staff (and all working-class people) whether they were campaigning against low pay, for better terms and conditions or in defence of their pension scheme.
I applaud all that Jeremy has campaigned for over the years and look forward to him being an MP for many more
Mike Calvert
Deputy branch secretary, Islington Unison
