Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 13 November 2009

Backing business

THE last year’s been a tough one for businesses. While a small number of businesses in Islington have closed, we have welcomed more than 1,000 new businesses.
As a council we’re determined to do as much as we can to support businesses. We’re aiming to pay local suppliers within 10 days; funding a free business support service; expanding our free recruitment service; promoting the small business rates relief and business rates deferral programmes; and offering free parking at all council-run, pay-and-display bays on the three Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas
For Islington Enterprise Week, which runs from Monday, we have an exciting programme of events.
Cllr Terry Stacy
Lib Dem leader, Islington Council
