Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 13 November 2009

Ideal site for school

IT’S a crying shame that the popular community centre at Crouch Hill was left to rot in the first place.
But if we cannot have the community centre back, I cannot see a better use for the site than as the new base for Ashmount School. As for the fact that parents will have further to go, it’s literally around the corner.
The school being near the Parkland Walk gives ample opportunities for children to engage in outdoor activities, such as nature trails. I am surprised anybody could find fault with turning a derelict site into a new school, which will be of benefit for children of the community for years to come.
