Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 23 October 2009

But was this major theft?

• I JUST wanted to point out to David Collins that for passengers with Travelcards there is no requirement to use the Oyster card reader on a bendy bus (Want to see theft on a major scale? Just take a bendy bus, October 16).
He assumed that the eight passengers he counted on his journey who did not present Oyster cards to the reader were fare dodging.
Mr Collins then went on to say that it was a “snapshot of one part of one bus in one part of a day... [multiplied] across all bendy routes and you are looking at theft on a major scale”.
Mr Collins, all I saw was assumption on a major scale. Please get your facts right.
