Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 16 October 2009

Patients come first

• WE agree with the Department of Health and Councillor Martin Klute that patient healthcare need should be the primary consideration regarding the future of Finsbury Health Centre. In our evidence to the health and wellbeing review committee on Monday we will be putting forward a strong case based on where service users live, population, transport and the evidence-based design features of the building.
Heritage, however, should not be brushed aside as incidental to our community’s wellbeing.
We hope people will join us in demanding that the health centre be refurbished and kept open to house community health services at Islington town hall at 7pm on Monday. Our petition, which so far has gathered more than 2,100 signatures, is still open at www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/stop-the-sell-off-of-the-finsbury-health-centre.html or you can call for further information on 020 7833 1395.
