Man dies after bus stairs fall
A MAN died shortly after falling down the stairs of a No 254 bus as it made its way along Camden Road.
CCTV footage captured the moment 46-year-old David Aspinall, of east London, fell last week as the bus was travelling through Holloway. Police were called to the scene just before 9pm. Mr Aspinall was pronounced dead at the scene around half an hour later.
At the opening of an inquest into his death, St Pancras Coroner’s Court officer Rod Quilter said: “In CCTV he is seen getting on and seen slipping, tripping or falling down the stairs.”
Mr Quilter added that a woman thought to be Mr Aspinall’s wife had come forward. The inquest was adjourned to January. |
