Rapper pals ‘plotted to kill’ girl, 15, by secluded canal

TWO popular rapper friends in the grime music scene plotted the murder of a pregnant schoolgirl, a jury heard on Wednesday.
Brandon Jolie, whose work had been used in EastEnders, TV dramas and in a film, and Kingsley Ogundele, known as Snoopy Montana, lured the
15-year-old to a secluded canal bank in Islington where she was attacked, the Old Bailey was told.
“Her murder was thwarted by the timely intervention of a brave member of the public,” said Vivek D’Cruz, prosecuting.
Jurors used computer screens to follow a film of the location at the Regent’s Canal at Wenlock Basin.
The attack took place just after 7pm on November 12 last year.
After kicking, punching and hurling the girl into the water the assailant fled as her rescuer arrived.
The two specialist rappers, both now 19, discussed the murder over the web for many hours and their conversations were later retrieved by a computer expert and proved vital evidence, said Mr D’Cruz.
Jolie, from Luton, used the tag “Maniac the Wonderkid”, the court was told.
Ogundele, of Retford Road, Romford, knew the canal area well because he had lived in Islington for many years, the jury heard. He denies plotting to murder the girl and his trial, expected to last several weeks, continues.
