Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 9 October 2009

Freedom Pass threat

• I WAS under the impression that the government passed a law stating that pensioners would be able to travel for free on public transport (Freedom Pass funding shortfall row, October 2).
If it is in fact law, how can there be any dispute about it, unless of course politicians are able to bend the law to suit their respective purposes?
It could be coupled to the coming Olympics. If pensioners and the disabled are prohibited from using Freedom Passes, there would be more room for the expected spectators.
DE Kirby
Old Royal Free Court, N1
