Park staff attacked by gang

DETECTIVES are seeking key eye-witnesses after a gang of up to 20 youths attacked two park-keepers last week.
The victims were assaulted with weapons, including a metal pole and a fire extinguisher, after intervening in an argument between a couple and the youths in Elthorne Park, Upper Holloway, just after 6.30pm last Monday.
One of the victims, a 45-year-old man who suffered serious head injuries, was released from Whittington Hospital in Archway after treatment. His 49-year-old colleague needed hospital treatment for eye injuries.
One of the gang had a Staffordshire bull terrier dog with him.
Police are appealing to cyclists and pedestrians in the area at the time to come forward.
Anyone with information can call Detective Constable Cen Blackwell, of Islington CID, on 0207 421 0220.
