Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 October 2009

Who needs arcades?

• IT IS a disgrace that yet another arcade is to be opened, this time in Archway, even though Islington Council and many residents oppose it (‘It’s little Las Vegas’ fears over arcades, September 18). The same thing happened at Nag’s Head, Holloway. The council, police, residents and other businesses all opposed it.
These arcades do nothing for these areas, only bring them down. They need regenerating, not more problems. It seems that big business gets what it wants. What the residents think or want does not matter anymore.
WJ Blundell
York Way Estate, N7
