Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 4 September 2009

Hunt on for leak source

• JUST a quick letter to thank your reporter for coming round to see the water situation at our home at Heathville Road, Archway (Mystery leak gives gardens an unwanted water feature, August 14).
The article has kick-started a whole chain of events and Thames Water has suddenly changed its mind, from it definitely being groundwater to it being mains water. We now have to find the source.
As soon as the article came out, I had a phone call late at night from the customer relations manager of Thames Water telling me my name had been flagged up on the chief executive officer’s computer as being a dissatisfied customer. More like a thorn in its backside.
Since arriving back from holiday I have had emails and phone calls galore from Thames Water and Homes for Islington taking samples from the garden.
Let’s hope I can get this sorted, but without the Tribune and Hillrise ward councillor Greg Foxsmith I would have lost the will to live when dealing with Thames Water.
AMANDA DIMENT
Heathville Road, N19
