Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 4 September 2009

What about this pub?

• LIKE Terry Comer (Chablis in the garden, August 28), I am also a long-standing Canonbury resident but is he or Councillor Lucy Watt aware that on the first weekend of the opening of The Canonbury pub some 200 or so people vacated the premises at 10pm to take up residence in the open area at the nearby Alwyne pub where, despite the outside closure time of 11.30pm, they continued to party until well after midnight, causing a nuisance to residents.
If the council has decided that a 10pm curfew is applicable to The Canonbury, because the neighbours have suffered enough, then maybe it should consider a similar curfew being imposed on The Alwyne.
