Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 August 2009

Too good for ’em?

• YOUR correspondent, I Shapiro, is so right to condemn the hanging baskets outside Holloway Prison (Too pretty for prison, August 7).
Heaven forbid that we should seek to brighten the lives of those we seek to integrate back into society.
Of course, it is the felons inside the prison whose heads should hang from the lampposts. Provided, of course, the council has carried out the correct health and safety assessment first of the load-bearing capacity of the lampposts in question (Blooming madness! Flower baskets removed, August 7).
ANDY KIRBY
Barbican, EC2
