Cops find man shot in chest

DETECTIVES from the Met’s Trident team are investigating after a man was shot in the chest on Tuesday.
Police were called after a couple crashed their Vauxhall Corsa into a wall at the junction of Cropley Street and Napier Grove, off New North Road, just before 10.45pm.
Officers found a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 39-year-old woman with minor injuries. They had managed to leave their car after the collision.
The man was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The woman was also treated but has since been discharged.
Anyone with information is urged to call 020 8217 7380 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

*A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after the incident. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.
