Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 July 2009

How Boris was duped

• I HAVE recently been in touch with London Cycling Campaign regarding the desperate need for a pedestrian and cycling bridge across the rear of the tracks at King’s Cross station. It transpires that, despite the Islington Council business case study looking at this bridge having been fundamentally flawed to the extent that all its findings are invalid, council officials are nonetheless circulating it.
It has been sent to the Mayor of London, who, on the basis of its spin, has agreed that the bridge should not go ahead. It is appalling that local democracy can be so shattered by developers, consultants and council officials.
If this report continues to be circulated and given approval its incorrect findings will become received wisdom, as is already the case with the Mayor of London having been duped by it.
