Warden a full-time job
• AFTER spending a Saturday in Whittington Park collecting signatures for a petition to make the Foxham Gardens warden a full-time position, I was pleased to see that on the Islington Lib Dem website their councillors agree with the campaign.
It is worth noting, however, that if it wasn’t for the original Lib Dem decision to get rid of the warden altogether then there wouldn’t have been any need for the campaign in the first place.
My thanks go to Labour councillor Janet Burgess for putting pressure on the council and forcing it into the current embarrassing half-U-turn. As a local resident I’ll be hoping that all our councillors can work together and get the warden back to full-time.
