A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged arson attack on a Subway restaurant in Islington.
Detectives are examining CCTV for evidence following a blaze which destroyed the ground floor of the sandwich shop opposite Islington Town Hall in Upper Street.
The cause of the fire, believed to have started in a back office on Sunday night, is under investigation. It is alleged that just over £2,500 was stolen from the premises. Four fire engines attended the blaze.
Anyone with information can call Islington police on 020 7421 0149
